Overdraft: Friend or Foe

October 27th, 2006 at 01:46 pm

Just logged into my bank account and saw Overdraft kicked in again..oh geez! oh my! Thank goodness for overdraft, I think. I mean they only charge me 18% to borrow the money. EEK! On the other if I didnt have it I would have bounced a check. Will I ever learn. I have got to get a handle on my expenses.

This week, we will be working on my food bill. BTW - when I say WE, I really mean ME! I will not spend more then 50 dollars at the food store this week and to make sure I dont exceed this. I am buying a gift card to the food store for this amount exactly so I can not, will not go over.

Last month, I spent 500 dollars at the food store and CVS combined. Goodness, Do I really need 27 toothpastes and 25 boxes of tampons..Oh my! I must learn to live off my stockpile that is why I made it.

Found Money! yeaaaa

Yup! I found money in my closet! Right under my nose..Can you believe that?

Dont underestimate the power of selling your belongings..ha ha ha. I sold my vacuum on Craigslist and made a cool 100 bucks! This is gonna really help to pay off a credit card. My kids better watch out..or their stuff will be disappearing too.
Mom is on the loose and no item if not nailed down is safe! hahahahhaaa They have too much stuff anyhow..

Borrowing from Peter to Pay Paul

Argh!

Last night we received a phone call from the dear MIL. Since we recently moved, we forgot to get a change of address for one ONE measly bill. In our defense it doesnt come in neither of our name but, we did, kind of, not really, agree to repay this loan. Long story short, It's a parent student loan so though my partner received the education the parent should be paying it. Now this bill hasnt been paid in 3 months so it needs to be paid and we dont have the money!!!! Aye Caramba! So, this morning we scrambled to transfer money from one bank acct to another to get these people off our back. This is one bill I hate to pay so I made my better half responsible for it even tho Ipay all the bills. She isnt very good at keeping track of these sort of things hence the non payment.

There was actually a time she didnt pay the bills for almost a year. That is until I got my hands on them. What a mess! I almost fell apart when I found this out. No wonder we were living the high life. Dinner out, shopping galore. Geez! Thank goodness we dug ourselves out of that mess. Took almost 3 years before we could see the light..

Another day..Another Victory

Today I managed to not spend a single penny today. This is a huge accomplishment for someone like me. Money burns a whole in my pocket. Really, I feel it actually get hot. So I have to remove it as quickly as possible. Hate to get burned so I do this mainly as a safety precaution.

Time to cut the coupons..

Sunday evening and I have just left the couch after spending 2 hours, yup you read that right, watching television.
Well, Okay! Not exactly watching more like listening to the television as I cut, sorted and piled my coupons into envelopes. (I think I might be on too many coupon trains but we'll see how it goes.) I was really upset yesterday too when I noticed I was almost cut from a train I was riding..well, a part of me was like. It's okay..but then another part was like, Nah! you really like the coupons..it feels like christmas when they come. ha! Christmas and Coupons in the same sentence. Who would have thunk it?

Well, gotta iron my clothes..off to work I go tomorrow.
